Genesis 6:5-9

5 The LORD saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. 6 The LORD was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain. 7 So the LORD said, "I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth—men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air—for I am grieved that I have made them." 8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.  9 This is the account of Noah.
Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God.

I just sat next to a guy on the plane from Sydney to Brisbane who is a heart surgeon.

It was such a weird moment.

He was going to Brisbane to give 3 talks to a room full of doctors on how they should decide who and who doesn't get a heart transplant and for what reasons.  A huge moral dilemma.

He said it is a minefield, "the basic premise is a 20 year old non-smoker is going to get the heart over a 60 year-old ex-smoker...but you can't really say that."

I was going to Brisbane to give 3 talks to a room full of young adults on how we all need a new heart. A huge moral dilemma.

So God ordained this moment.

I was reading a Calvin commentary on Romans

He was reading about a crooked wallstreet broker who made billions and went to jail

He lived in New York, I lived in New York

I asked what are you reading and he asked what are you reading...and the journey began.

He knew something about the physical heart and I knew something about the spiritual heart.

Our worlds collided in a moment of relativism versus truth

Heaven and Earth

Life and Death

I had nothing to prove...God is my witness. I am justified/righteous by faith and faith alone.

We connected. We smiled. We Laughed. We got serious.

I shared from my new heart that God has given me through Jesus

A seed was sown in his heart

We exchanged names.

We walked off the plane to do our jobs of talking about the heart.

Now I pray.

Thank you Jesus.
